Boca Grande, Florida and Charlotte Harbor
Mention the name Boca Grande to a random group of people from out of state and very few will know where it is. Mention Boca Grande to a bunch of anglers and many will know the place. Boca Grande, FL is a small town on a barrier island to the northwest of Fort Myers, FL that doesn’t get a lot of attention because not a lot goes on there besides fishing. Perhaps that is the appeal, as some of the world’s elite have been using it as a getaway for years. Boca Grande sits on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico with Pine Island Sound to the south and Charlotte Harbor to the east where the water from both of these large estuaries flows into the Gulf through the deepest pass in Southwest Florida. Boca Grande’s unique location creates a marine ecosystem like no other in the area where miles of white sand beaches outline mangrove estuaries that are home to abundant wildlife, and the fish of anglers’ dreams.

Fishing around Boca Grande, Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Charlotte Harbor, and the nearshore water of the Gulf of Mexico is a year-round activity. The area is coastal shallow water tidal estuary where fresh water from the Everglades flows into the salt water of the Gulf of Mexico. Mangrove shorelines surround most of the basins, flats, rivers, and creeks, that comprise the area and are home to many species of saltwater fish, including our primary targets: snook, redfish, and tarpon.
Snook
Snook can be found all over Southwest Florida, and snook fishing is our staple fishery. Everglades snook are fishable year round.
Redfish
Redfish call the Everglades home year round and their willingness to take flies and lures makes them one of our favorite fish to target.
Tarpon
Watching an Everglades tarpon bite and come jumping out of the water is one of the most exciting things in all outdoor sports.
